Dumnonni Outlore 2008
I arrived at the site excited this year. The number of friends i have at this event has doubled from previous years, young and old, close and far. Natureboy Ben was there with his armour trading, had been there since wednesday i think and had managed to get his new car banged up thursday night. He spent all his time up at his makeshift trading stall selling and mending Ben Loder Armour.

Rob had turned up to. It had been a while since he had experienced crewing dumnonni, and this was his first time at outlore where everything is a grander scale.
This Outlore had a lot to live up to as last years was seen to be quite somber with people not mixing enough. It is supposed to be a celebration of the Beltaine as well as finding out what has gone on in the year. This year Outlore delivered an event that left everyone who had taken part with a warm feeling of spiritual health, physical achievement and love for friends.
The Fighting was fun, furious and with no accidents. The kids encounter was cute. The zombie tunnel was a great original idea. The night of the Beltaine fire celebration was so magically involving that i totally forgot who i was, enveloped in the magic of the night, dancing and drinking with my friends.

Crewing the event was great. Even though most of the old sands crew were not there, enough new crew who had sprung up over the last year made for great fights. I need a new name to describe the group now known as Jacks Crew, basically friends from his school which include Lil Ronan, Will, Crispin, Alex and a few others. The Sands Crew are a new mix, Chris, Evie, The Gribble, Patrick, tmmy and a few others. Then yu got the dudes form the baserkers club, a few clans of Crew from various other places i dont yet know. It was good to see the crew really getting along this year which also added to the event.

So its over yet again for another year, that was my tenth outlore and i really hope i can keep going for the next ten years. The memories that you come away from are the most vivid dreams, because you have actually lived them, not watched in a cinema. The memories of the smoke from the fire, the bright lanterns, the cheering its all real. Its just a shame to have to come home and go to work in an uneventful soul destroying job.
Well... only have to wait a while, as there is another smaller event in July :)
