The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

If ever there was a director who i think could pull off a proper Steampunk film, it would be Terry Gilliam. His films have always had a flare for the eccentrics of eras past. His fantasy worlds are a hodge-pot of various themes of yesteryear that feel cobbled together in a delightful manner. I've been influenced by Time Bandits, Baron Munchousen and Brazil and his next film looks fantastic and according to the geeks online, its possibly his most purest film yet.

Doctor Parnassus is essentially God with a gambling problem. He can’t keep from making bets with Mr. Nick a devil in a bowler hat. Parnassus champions the power of imagination. Storytelling is what keeps Gilliam’s world continuing, it’s the light that keeps the darkness at bay. Their battle is always over humanity’s innate goodness or corruption.

The Film revolves round an old outdoor theatre that has a mirror that once you step through shows you a world created from your imagination in pure Terry Gilliam style (which i assure you is unique and lush!)

Not sure when the film comes out yet, but should be later in the year.
