Legend of the 10 Sketchbooks

When i was 17 i went to collage to study Art & design. It was at this time i had to buy supplies for everyday use which included, charcol pencils, a sketch pad, set Square & Compass, cuache paints, a scalpal, putty rubber and a Sketch Book. The Sketch book would become one of my trade marks of personality. It was where all my ideas were offloaded and for 6 years i filled sketchbooks with art, memorabilia and various bits and bobs from my life throughout collage, and Plymouth student life and then early career. i would always have a sketch book with me, but i stopped.
There were to be 10 sketchbooks all together from 1996 till 2002. Sketchbook 10 was stopped half way through and the reason for this is kinda sad. I basically think that doing my art as a job killed off the sketchbooks. I no longer had the free time to experiment, and i no longer got to see my friends and have adventures like we used too. This led to the use of the sketchbook to decline. More and more work was done on computer, there became no need for a sketch book.
I look back at these sketchbooks and im filled with a sense of endless ambition and inspiration. Could it be that i got so bogged down in my place at the Ad Works that i no longer felt there was anything new to look towards?
I have a new Sketchbook, number 11, heres hoping i can fill it!

Are you doing anything with that sketchbook we did at dumnonni? There was some high quality artwork in there!
They look incredible, would be nice to see them. In my brief attempt at a career in art I never kept one and regret that.
