Painting Emo Sky Pirates

I've known for some time now that many digital painters get over excited about brushes in Photoshop. In all my years of using photoshop, i've never gotten round to perfecting brush usage for doing illustrations. Today however i finally started to dabble in the brushes and created a picture different in colour to my past work. it's not THAT much different but it's a start.

The concept for the image came from a mate called Darren who died his hair pink. I said he looked like a manga character, and so used that as a reason to do this picture. The Sky Pirate thing comes from a convo i had which had no real meaning behind it... ANYWAY... here you can see the stages leading up to the finished picture.
