Expanding the Demonkid Universe.... Demonkid Design

After publishing Conscious, it was evident that i could also publish some of my other old stuff such as arrens quest and also John Peel: God of radio. But before that it's evident that i need to create a site to help promote the comics rather than just LuLu's page. So i plan to make a Demonkidscomics website eventually, but before doing that i also needed to update my Portfolio site, which i have now done....

Behold the new www.demonkiddesign.co.uk, a bit more slick than the previous shite attempt at a porfolio site. It's also quite small.

Im on twitter (AGAIN) and OMG I FORGOT ABOUT SCOTT PILGRIM!!!

My last twitter before today was over two years ago. I can safely say YEH i was on the Twitter band wagon before you lot!!!, but back then no one was using it so there was not really much point in posting messages to no one. But then again, that kinda what im doing here, i don't write my blog for any particular person to read... so who the frak am i writing this for??????

ON A MUCH MORE IMPORTANT NOTE... yes im excited about where the wild things are, BUT im also excited about Edgar Wrights adaption of the amazing Comic Book SCOTT PIGRIM. The comic is the most refreshing comic book in recent years, and i cant wait to see Edgars 'SPACED' style meeting SCOTT PILGRIM. Below is a lovely tease....

CONSCIOUS NOW PUBLISHED!

My first ever printed copy of Conscious arrived today. Over all the print quality was rather good. The Cover was a little bit warped from travel and the artwork is a little scruffy mainly due to the difficulty of presenting work that spans over 13 years. Over all it's just freakin AWESOME to see the story as a printed book. I was overwhelmed with a joyful giddyness as i flipped through a comic book drawn by ME!.




I'm just gutted that it's taken me THIS LONG to get artwork printed. But i guess before now, self printing was a lot harder and maybe even impossible. LOL everytime i pick the book up i giggle furiously.


Anyway :) for those interested and with a few pounds to spare you can indeed order a copy of Conscious from LULU [HERE] for £8.99 minus of course shipping which is about £4. It took LULU 4 days to print then ship to my address AWESOMENESS!!!

ALSO, here is the animated advert i made for the Graphic Novel as part of my learning ToonBoom Studio.It's bit daft but was fun spending 3 days just to make a 30 second video lol...

Yeovilton Air Day 2009

So me and me family that also included my sister and her boyfriend chris went to Yeovilton to experience the Air Show. Go there pretty early but still got caught in huge amounts of traffic.



The weather was forecast as being raining all day, but lukily the rain held off. It was cloudy though so many of the jet plane displays were cancelled. The red arrows make a small appearance, and the vulcan which everyone was excited about did not fly in the end either. Instead it just went down the runway so we could see how big it was (IT WAS HUGE!)

All in all, had a rather spiffing day. It was cloudy but still warm, i even caught the sun! I finally saw the brochure i had been working on for the last 3 months. The Cover came out great. It was a matt finish cover with special gold colour on a boarder and text. It was nice watching everyone avidly flipping through the pages. I think overall, this was my best work for Air Day, i hope i get to do more.
