Ok here are two new quick colour tests. These are all about how best to do backgrounds. Useing digital painting techniques ihope to do backgrounds that look some what painted rather than drawn. To make the backgrounds seem more dynamic i think i need to experiment more with different brush types in photoshop.
This is Kailem, a gypsy boy sent on a great mission. He is being chased by 'The Beast' who has been sent to stop Kailem. Both will feature in the short prologue.
This has been doing the rounds lately, its from the soundtrack of where the wild things are and gives an idea what the music might be like. It's by Karen'O who is from the Yeah Yeahs, apparently she used to date Spike Jonze. Anyway Check out the track, it SHOUTS Indie movie :-p
Heres another test for my next comic book. This time i introduce Cadet Rose, a young Sky Commando who is cut off from the rest of his team during a huge Airship battle.
Im trying an idea of doing the main foreground in Ink and leaving the background stuff in pencil. Also the colouring also is to be more vivid for foreground, and pastel for background, though at this stage im not yet sure wether to go this route. I still have alot more practice and tests to do yet.
Well im almost ready to start on my new comic book, just gotta get everything else in place. Will be doing a short prologue story in order to see how things will work with online comic, iphone app and print......
In the meantime this is a test of one of the main characters, this is Ellison Scott Bailey the only character who will be from our world.
Technically thats not true. With my parents gone for 2 weeks, i was hardly on my own. My London friend came down to stay a few days and i went to exeter to hang out with the lads from Dumnonni.
Went for a walk to Appledore with Jon only to find a carnival in full swing. With the busses not running during that time, we had to walk to Northam where we got a bus home. Finished that day off with an amazing meal of Mussels YUM!!, i even drank some wine YUK!
Also went to hang out with my mate Andrew in Bideford, might be the last time i visit that flat, cos hes moving into his very own Bungalow.
Anyway, nows to time to clean up the house and get the basics for wen the rent return. Unfortunitly i cant have closed the freezers door properly so all the food defrosted and is ruined. Gonna be fun explaining that one!
